Tree Trimming Around the County

You may have seen crews out and about trimming trees too close to power lines this past week. Work continues in various areas for the next 2-3 months, starting at Pajarito Mountain and moving to White Rock, then Los Alamos. The Dept. of Public Utilities makes every attempt to notify nearby residents and businesses about tree trimming work in their area a week in advance. Work occurs within designated utility easements, and your cooperation in helping the trimming crews access these areas is greatly appreciated!

Bulk Item Collections – They’re Done

The summer bulk and brush item collection has been completed in the townsite and White Rock. That means if there is still material sitting curbside, it must be properly disposed of by the homeowner. Questions or comments? Call the Eco Station at 662-8163. Still cleaning up around your home this summer? Don’t worry, there’s another brush and bulk item collection set to begin in October – watch for more news about it in the County Line this fall!

Showing Off Los Alamos & White Rock

If you’ve had the chance to ride the Atomic City Transit shuttle to/from Bandelier recently, you may have noticed new display monitors in the busses playing a video of everything there is to do in our great community. The County worked with the LACDC and Chamber of Commerce to produce the video – it’s a real “bonus” for us with hundreds of tourists riding the shuttle who may be interested in finding out more about Los Alamos County!
