Remember, Monday is Presidents’ Day holiday, so County offices are closed. There’s no trash or recycling pick up on Monday – so if that’s your normal pick up day, put your roll carts at the curb by 8 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 20) instead. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
Council Meeting Tuesday
The main item on the agenda is the discussion about capital projects – which ones to defer for up to $12.5 million and four years. Community Broadband Network Meetings on Wednesday Afternoon

NM502 Design: Environmental Assessment Update Meeting on Wednesday Evening
This meeting is being hosted by NM DOT – but we know many residents are interested in the project planned for the eastern entrance of Los Alamos – so we are helping them “spread the word.” Plan to attend the meeting at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers and hear what they have to say.

Fiber Cutover Now Underway!
Remember, the County began its fiber cutover at Ashley Pond Park today – it’s the first step as we prepare for the move to the new Municipal Building in May! Work continues throughout the holiday weekend – service impacts should be minimal and phones and computers for those facilities that were impacted should be back on line at the end of the day Monday. Get back in the swing of things – the Golf Course is Open!
Thanks to Mother Nature and some sunny forecasts, the golf course opened for the season at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15. They plan to remain open through February, weather permitting. Play begins at 11 a.m. and hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days as week – so get out there and practice your golf swing this holiday weekend. Visit their webpage:
