The Los Alamos County Finance Office announced today that the FY2016 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) has been issued and is available on the County’s webpage here.
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) established the PAFR Program to encourage and assist state and local governments to extract information from their comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) to produce high-quality popular annual financial reports.
These reports are specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public and other interested parties without a background in public finance. The PAFR Program recognizes those individual governments who are successful in achieving that goal.
Finance staff used the program’s guidelines as a blueprint to prepare this year’s report, and the PAFR was submitted to GFOA for award consideration. At a minimum, GFOA’s review will provide the County with valuable review comments from which to improve future PAFRs.
Physical copies of the PAFR are available to the public in the west vestibule of the Municipal Building lobby, Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch Library.
