WHEREAS, Customer Service Week is an international celebration; and

WHEREAS, in 1992, the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week be celebrated nationally during the first full week of October; and

WHEREAS, in Los Alamos County, thousands of residents and businesses access the services and programs offered by the Los Alamos County government; and

WHEREAS, for more than 20 years the Customer Care Center representatives have engaged with community members, often as the first point of contact for the county because of their easy-to-access phone line, e-mail address, and walk-in services located in the lobby of the Municipal Building; and

WHEREAS, the Customer Care Center representatives and the 700-plus Los Alamos County employees routinely demonstrate their commitment to providing excellent customer service to citizens day-in and day-out; and

WHEREAS, the Customer Care representatives and the Los Alamos County employees will join the thousands of companies worldwide, representing more than 100,000 frontline representatives to celebrate Customer Service Week and highlight the importance of customer service as a critical component of business success; and

WHEREAS, Customer Care will host the annual Customer Service Fair on October 10^th starting at 10:00am in the Municipal Building Lobby with the theme, “Our Customer Service is a 10!”  

NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the Council of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, I do hereby designate October 7th through 11th, 2024 as “Customer Service Week” in Los Alamos County, and extend our gratitude to our Customer Care representatives and all Los Alamos County employees for their hard work and dedication in serving the citizens of our community
