During Tuesday’s County Council meeting in Council Chambers, Councilor Antonio Maggiore presented a proclamation on behalf of the Council to Los Alamos Medical Center CEO John Whiteside and his staff declaring the Week of May 7-13 as Hospital Week in Los Alamos County.
WHEREAS: Providing local health care options and medical facilities is of vital interest and importance in every community – it is a quality of life consideration for individuals and many times determines whether or not they will relocate or stay in the community over time; and
WHEREAS: Among the variety of health care services offered here in our County, Los Alamos Medical Center has a long history as our hospital, caring for residents since 1952; and
WHEREAS: We appreciate the convenience and easy access to care that our community gains by having Los Alamos Medical Center here; their support of a wide variety of health and wellness programs benefit not only our citizens, but offers options to our neighbors across Northern New Mexico; and
WHEREAS: Los Alamos County is often ranked in national studies as being one of the healthiest communities in the United States, and the types of opportunities that the hospital offers in the way of programs, incentives and wellness options contributes to this successful, healthy lifestyle that is enjoyed by our residents; and
WHEREAS: In a time when many hospitals are challenged by an ever-changing healthcare landscape, we appreciate that Los Alamos Medical Center continues to invest in our community by expanding and improving its existing facilities as well as services;
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the Council of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, I do hereby proclaim the Week of May 7, 2017 as
in Los Alamos County, and applaud the work of the Los Alamos Medical Center and their staff in bringing top-notch services and facilities to our community.
