Council Tentatively OKs Administrative Services Budget

The Los Alamos County Council voted unanimously to approve the Administrative Services Department budget of approximately $7.9 million during its annual budget hearing Monday night in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

Council also tentatively approved the following budget options:

  • $40,926 for training and communication budget;
  • $66,240 for hardware and software; and
  • $41,858 for contractual services.

Deputy County Manager Steve Lynne highlighted some points in the Administrative Services budget:

  • The 1.6 limited term positions included in the FY2019 Adopted Budget related to the Munis software implementation project. These positions ended shortly after “go live,” and are therefore not continued in FY 2020;
  • First Fiscal Year year-end and first audit with the new Munis system;
  • Planning and executing the first Munis upgrade under the evergreen provisions of the software service agreement;
  • Continued migration of software applications toward cloud-based services;
  • Planned phone system replacement project; and
  • Increase in use of student interns in IT -.37 FTEs.
