Council Sends Proposed Changes in Utilities Ordinances in the Charter to Voters in Nov. 4 Election

County Council tonight voted 6-1 to move a single question forward to the voters in the Nov. 4,2014 election on proposed changes to the Utilities Ordinances in the Los Alamos County Charter, including a rewrite to Article 5. The changes update language and include giving Council authority over the Utilities Board to remove a board member in the event of undesirable behavior. At present, the Council has all the liability for the conduct of Utilities Board members but no authority. Councilor Pete Sheehey voted against the motion for the single question. Photo by Carol A.
