Council Approves Appointment of New Police Chief

The County Council unanimously approved the appointment of Dino P. Sgambellone as the new police chief of the Los Alamos Police Department.

Sgambellone assumes his new duties next week and will receive an annual salary of $135,600, which is slightly below the midpoint salary range for the police chief position.

He also will receive 40 hours of leave time to move his family to Los Alamos from Ohio where he worked for a local police department for 22 years, the last three as chief of police.
