Los Alamos Subway franchise owner Larry Singh just told the Los Alamos Daily Post that he has been given corporate authorization to open his restaurant at 7 a.m., Wednesday, June 10.

“We will place our food and products orders tomorrow, they will be delivered Monday, we’ll set up everything Tuesday and open our doors to the community at 7 a.m., Wednesday,” Singh said.

He explained that Subway’s New Mexico Territory Field Operations Supervisor Julie Ahlheim met with him at the restaurant today and gave him the official go ahead to open next Wednesday.

He had been waiting for the authorization since May 21 when he was visited by Connie Gemignani, director of operations for Clearstone Development of Southern Colorado & New Mexico, the development agent for Subway.

She met with him to go over final details prior to announcing the official opening date for the new store near Central Avenue and 15th Street .

“We’re excited to be in the Los Alamos community … as a brand, we highly value providing our customers with the freshest breads and food products and look forward to ensuring our customers are happy with the location, the store and the service,” Gemignani said at the time. “When we open the doors we invite everyone to come in and bring a friend.”

Clearstone Development of Southern Colorado & New Mexico took over the regional territory for Subway last May, Gemignani said, adding that the previous development agent had Singh as well as other franchisees operating in some ways that were not up to Subway’s national brand standards, and also had Singh sit with his store unopened for a while.

“As a national brand, it needs to be uniform throughout,” she said at the May meeting.

Singh said he will be announcing opening specials for customers coming in to his new store.
