This month, the Los Alamos Co+op Market offers two nutritious Shop with the Chef cooking classes with chefs eager to share their knowledge and love of cuisine.
The Co+op’s cooking classes are 6 p.m. in the Co+op Café at 95 Entrada Dr. Each class starts with shopping for the ingredients, takes participants through the cooking process, and concludes with enjoying the final product. Registration is available at the Co+op and class size is limited to accommodate the space.
Tuesday, Oct. 7, learn how to make delicious, healthy, gluten free meals utilizing nutritious whole foods without excessive time or money. Emily Schmidt will again share her passion for nutrition, health and family along with her knowledge of one-dish cooking. The class includes sampling versatile and nutritionally balanced dinners (black bean soup and fauxgetti).
Tuesday, Oct. 21, Lisa Bakosi, local nutritionist and author, will share recipes from her new book “Balance for Busy Moms.” As a mother, she understands how a busy lifestyle can make it difficult to cook delicious and nutritious meals. This class offers time saving techniques for anyone who wants to make tasty, healthy food.
