Shoppers can now support two local businesses in one stop in downtown Los Alamos. The Los Alamos Co+op’s Downtown Market is in the new Fusion Multisport store on Central Avenue across from CB FOX.
Now shoppers can grab an espresso and a scone provided by the Los Alamos Co+op Market at Fusion Multisport. The combination of an outdoor sports retailer and coffee shop, popular in active cities like Boulder and Denver, is new for Los Alamos.
“Now our community has another place to gear up, hang out, share their adventures, meet friends for runs and bike rides, and enjoy healthy food,” Fusion Multisport co-owner Brad Nyenhuis said.
Fusion Multisport at 106 Central Park Square provides the following Co+op items: espresso drinks, Fusion Blend drip coffee, baked goods from the Co+op deli (including gluten free varieties), and chilled energy and hydration drinks. When the weather allows, patrons can enjoy beverages and baked goods outside with seating provided by the Co+op. Pricing is the same as shoppers would find at the Co+op Market.
The Los Alamos Co+op Market was made possible by community members who wanted healthy food options. After the Co+op opened, many community members requested a more accessible location. The Co+op took that to heart and after nearly three years in business, the Co+op tagline may need an update: “Heart of the Community at the Edge of Town and Downtown.”
