on March 6, 2019 - 7:18am
The Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC) and Discover Los Alamos are soliciting applications for this summer’s 7th Annual White Rock Artist Markets.
The markets are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the first Saturday of the month, June 1 to Sept. 7 on the lawn outside the White Rock Visitor Center at 115 N.M. 4 in White Rock.
Space is limited and registrations are accepted until all slots are filled, others will be put on a waiting list. There is a fee of $25 per market registration.
“The White Rock Artist Markets offers a significant opportunity for artists and artisans to connect with both locals as well as seasonal visitors who travel through White Rock via NM State Road 4 May through October,” Discover Los Alamos Director Melanie Peña said. “All tourists visiting Bandelier National Monument are required to park their vehicles at the White Rock Visitor Center and take a shuttle bus service to and from the National Monument between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to capture the interest of our visitors.”
Based on historical attendance, approximately 300-800 cars per day are expected, and the average number of people per car is 2.7. The shuttle service will run every 20 minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The markets are intended to provide additional interesting cultural activities within the community, foster regional arts and culture interchange, enable vending opportunities for artisans, and increase economic vitality in the White Rock commercial area.
