West Arroyo Alamo Fire
Start Date & Time: 6/24/12 @ 7 p.m.
Start Location: West Arroyo Alamo Road (near MM 6 State Road 76), La Puebla, Santa Fe County
 
Cause of Fire: Under investigation
 
Area Vegetation: Bosque, dense salt cedar undergrowth
Acres Burned: estimated 3.1

Structures Threatened: No
Structures Burned: Unknown

Situation: Roads are open at this time, but area residents are asked to use caution due to emergency vehicle traffic in the area. Crews will continue to mop up the burn area today and some smoke from smoldering interior fuels will be visible. Incident command reports heavy loss of cottonwood trees to the area and crews will be out taking down dead and severely damaged trees for public and landowner safety.

Rio Vista Run Fire
Date & Time: 6/24/12 @ 7 p.m.
 
Start Location: Rio Vista Run Road (near MM 6 State Road 76), La Puebla, Santa Fe County
 
Cause of Fire: Car Fire that spread into the wildland, according to Santa Fe County
 
Area Vegetation: Bosque, dense salt cedar undergrowth
Acres Burned: estimated 2.1
Ownership(s): Private
 
Structures Threatened: No
Structures Burned: Unknown
Evacuations (Y or N & #): No – All evacuations lifted
 
Situation: Crews were able to stop the spread of the fire last night around midnight and continue to mop up the burn are this morning. Area residents are advised to use caution while driving in the area due to emergency vehicle traffic. Smoke from smoldering fuels on the interior will be visible today. Crews will also be working on downing damaged and burned cottonwood trees that pose a risk.
