Saturday at Ashley Pond Park, Los Alamos Arts Council Board Members Steve Bublitz and Jenn Best publicize the organization's intent to make history. They announced that this fall the organization will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most pumpkins carved simultaneously. The hope is to have 1,300 people each carve a pumpkin along Central Avenue. The big event happens at 3 p.m. Oct.26. Tickets will be available for purchase after Sept. 1 at CB FOX for $5 or online for $7. A ticket will provide participants with a wristband, a pumpkin carving kit and a 24-pound pumpkin.
