Santa Fe Council On International Relations Presents WorldQuest 2015 College Bowl Style Trivia Game

on February 2, 2015 - 9:19am

CIR News:

Join the Santa Fe Council on International Relations (CIR) for its fourth annual WorldQuest 2015, a College Bowl-style game of international trivia, played in teams of eight.

This event is 5:45-9:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 in the Jemez Room at Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave. Reservations are required by Wednesday, Feb. 18. It’s a fun way to test your knowledge of world affairs!

Last February, CIR hosted its third WorldQuest quiz competition and dinner event. Six teams of eight joined in the fun. They were asked to answer multiple choice questions covering a range of political, economic, cultural and geographic topics. Team members often engaged in a lively debate in deciding which answer to circle!

At this year’s event, CIR members and guests will once again gather in the Jemez Room at the Santa Fe Community College to test their knowledge in an exciting rematch! The format will be the same: questions will be shown on five different screens around the room and teams will have about 30 to 45 seconds to decide on an answer.  After each round of 25 questions, answers will be collected – and the correct answers will be distributed.

After the first two rounds, there will be a break for dinner, which will be a delicious buffet of Persian food prepared by SFCC culinary students. Wine will be available at a no-host bar to add to the fun.

Following dinner, there will be two more rounds with 100 questions in all. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening for the most successful team.

Teams of eight may be formed by businesses, schools, clubs or groups of friends. You can form a team with your smartest friends and family members, or join a team and propel it to the winner’s circle using your dazzling grasp of world affairs. If you want to compete but don’t have a team, come join us Feb. 20 and we will certainly find a team for you.

Register for this event online: www.sfcir.org  or by calling the CIR Office: 505.982.4931. If you are creating a team or joining an existing team, please provide the name of the team in the shopping cart “Comments or Special Instructions” box during checkout. Teams consist of eight people.  If you want to join in the fun, but don’t have a team, register and we will put you on a team.

Try to register your team as soon as possible. The teams last year had a lot of fun and we expect that we may reach our capacity of ten teams fairly quickly. Good luck!

Cost for the evening is $40 General Admission (includes Persian buffet); wine will be available at $5/glass. For more information on registering for this event, go to the Council’s website: www.sfcir.org or telephone the office at 505.982.4931.
