Rivenburgh Best Predictor By Far

on August 28, 2013 - 7:36am

ACR News:

Cecilia Rivenburgh was the best predictor of the night, missing her prediction by only 4 seconds while running the long course. The long course was actually 2.87 miles long.

Ted Romero was the fastest finisher on the course at 22:34, which was almost two minutes better than he did last year. Bart Olinger was the next best predictor being only 105 seconds off of his prediction. The next best predictors were Lauraine Maness and Linda Vance who were 201 seconds off.

On the short course, there was a three-way tie for the best predictions. Margaret Ellis, George Glass and Jackie Marr were all 51 seconds off of their predicted times, (normalized to the three mile course), Bob Weeks was the first finisher on the one-mile course in a time of 13:35.

Twenty runners and walkers enjoyed a dry evening for the one mile and three mile courses, which had everyone climb up through the Quemazon subdivision.

The one milers looped back around to the bottom of Quemazon Road while the three milers headed off onto the Perimeter Trail for a while and then headed down Pipeline Road back to the bottom of Quemazon Road. All finishers were treated to cool cantaloupe and peanut butter cookies.

Next Tuesday night’s pace race begins at 6 p.m. on Estancia Way in White Rock. The course is a one mile loop and runners can choose their distance (one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, … miles), as long as they finish in 45 minutes or less.
