LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter is closed today due to an outbreak of ringworm in the cats staying at the shelter.

It is standard procedure to conduct a thorough deep cleaning of the cat room, quarantine room and entire Animal Shelter to contain exposure and ensure a safe environment.

It is anticipated that the animal shelter will be closed only today and reopen Tuesday. However, if more cleaning or time is required, the animal shelter may remain closed Tuesday as well.

Direct questions to the animal shelter at 505.662.8179.
