COUNTY News:

Work continues on improvements to Ashley Pond Park.

The area around Ashley Pond has been fine graded and the pond liner (30 mil geomembrane) has been installed. The contractor is completing the shotcrete process and placement of cobble stone over the pond liner around the perimeter of the pond.

The waterfall stairs and landing have been formed and concrete will soon be placed. The foundation and block walls for the stage are nearing completion. All electrical rough-ins are complete and the stone masons are installing the rock walls around the perimeter of the stage and the wing walls.

The original construction schedule (prior to being placed on hold for more than three months) anticipated that the pond would re-open just in time for the County Fair Saturday, Aug. 10. This is no longer possible because of the delays. The revised completion date is early November.
