Registration Opens For New Mexico Museum Of Natural History & Sciences Summer Camps For Children

ALBUQUERQUE  Registration is now open for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Sciences summer camp programs. The camps are for grades K-5 as indicated.
 
Kindergarteners must have experiences in full-day classes before attending. 
  • Young Explores Camp: Wild Weather & Curious Climatology, June 18-22 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) – Become a meteorologist for a week - adventure through lightning, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and winter storms. K-2 & 3-5 sections;
  • Da Vinci – From Parachutes to Outer Space, June 25-29 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Explore and create inventions, ponder what Leo would have thought about the planets & try your hand at various flying machines. K-2 & 3-5 sections;
  • Da Vinci II – From Water to Bats to Rocks, July 9-13 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) – Da Vinci spent much of his notebook space drawing and learning about the world and then devising fantastical inventions. K- 2 & 3-5 sections;
  • Water is Wonderful - Water is Life, July 16 – 20 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Explore the many facets of water during a hot summer week. Explore waters physical qualities, artistic ideas & well experiments. K-2 and 3-5 sections;
  • Dino Detectives, July 23 - 27 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Emerging Paleontologists will break rocks, create habitats & dig for bones. K-2;
  • Habitat in the Garden, July 23 - 27 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Get your hands dirty - explore the diversity of our Learning Garden- look for critters & provide habitat. 3-5; 
  • Space Detectives, July 30 - Aug. 4 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Blast off through the solar system and beyond creating and learning about celestial objects and space flight. K-2;
  • Naturally Naturalists, July 30 - Aug. 4 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Discover surprising and incredible areas of Albuquerque- explore the Sandias, start a collection, with a sneak peek behind  the scenes. 3-5;
  • Science Sleuths, Aug. 6 - 10 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) - Explore the museum visiting the exhibit halls & behind the scenes - experimenting & creating & learning K-2 & 3-5 sections.
 
Aftercare is available 4-5 p.m. every day for $10/day.
