David Byron Lawrence, 54, was charged with assault against a household member and criminal damage to property of a household member when he was arrested June 6.

Los Alamos Police Department Cpl. Robert Larsen was notified of a domestic dispute in progress and when he arrived at Lawrence’s residence, two women told him Lawrence was drunk and “got crazy”. On entering the residence, Larsen observed that the front window was broken, and there was a pair of broken glasses on the kitchen table belonging to one of the women. Several items including a broken flowerpot were scattered on the floor.

The victim told Larsen that Lawrence had been drinking and when she tried to calm him down, he went after her with a pot and broke her glasses. She said she had called the police for help and that he “tore up the house”.

No date has been set for his first appearance in Los Alamos Magistrate Court.
