Plant Sale At Master Gardeners Garden Fair June 11

Starting a garden, need more plants, can't resist another plant, looking for a good bargain – all good reasons to attend the Los Alamos Master Gardeners' Demonstration Garden Fair 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 11 on Central Avenue (across the street from Mesa Public Library). 
 
More than 400 plants for your landscape and vegetable gardens, as well as plants for your home, all grown by Los Alamos Master Gardeners, will be for sale.
 
In addition to the Plant Sale, three workshops and one clinic will be offered, at no cost at the Garden G:
  • WANTED – Dead or Alive – Common Los Alamos Insect Pests at 9:15 a.m., Horticulturist and County Extension Agent Carlos Valdez offers an opportunity to identify good and harmful insects. If you have an insect you want identified, bring it.
  • Let ‘em Run, Let ‘em Ruin: Gophers - The Gardener’s Nemesis at 10 a.m. Master Gardener Kimberli Tanner will present, providing information on gopher management.
  • Brown Thumbs Anonymous at 10:45 a.m. Carlos Valdez will conduct a clinic - Bring questions and, if possible, plants and Valdez will help you diagnosis your plant disorders.
  • Making Every Drop Count in the Garden at 11:30 a.m. - Denise Matthews, Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), sponsored by the Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities, will present ways to conserve water in the garden.
Activities for children will be a Butterfly Hunt and Planting a Seed. Master Gardeners will be located throughout the Demo Garden to answer questions about the the Garden and its plants.

The Garden is maintained by the Los Alamos Master Gardeners Association, in conjunction with the Los Alamos County Parks Department and the New Mexico State University Los Alamos County Cooperative Extension Office.
