LAPS News:

Reynie Benelli and Christine Peters were awarded a Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation Great Ideas Grant to start a new S.T.E.A.M. Robotics Academy for the school’s 5th and 6th grade students.

Students will use innovative modular robots called “Cublets”. The robots will encourage students to learn about engineering and design principles. Cublets teach the three primary actions of a robot: sense, think, and act. Each Cublet is a smaller component of a larger robotic system.

In its first year, the program will benefit 100 students and then will expand to include all grade levels as part of an afterschool club. Family and community activities are planned as the program continues to grow this school year.
