PEEC: Explore Future Of Manned Space Exploration

PEEC News:
Rick Wallace will discuss current and future manned space exploration efforts and show the audience some full-dome movies from NASA discussing their plans for exploration of the moon and Mars.
His talk is 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, in the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium where he also will discuss the plans of private companies interested in establishing bases on the moon and Mars and the prospect of mining asteroids for natural resources that are becoming scare on Earth. Additionally, the audience will explore what it feels like to be inside a small spacecraft and can view a variety of model rockets at this event.
In addition to this talk, the nature center will show the full-dome film “We Are Stars” at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. This family-friendly film explores the secrets of the cosmic chemistry and our explosive origins.
Seating is limited for this talk and movie, so call the nature center at 505.662.0460 or stop by to reserve tickets. Admission for both events is $6 for adults and $4 for kids. Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.
