WILLIAM A. WILDS Nov. 22, 1933 – March 13, 2019

William A. Wilds, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2019 at the Los Alamos Medical Center.

William was born in Fremont, Nebraska on November 22, 1933 and lived in Nebraska and Colorado until high school. William moved to North Hollywood, California mid-way through his junior year of high school.

After graduating high school in North Hollywood, William started his career as a machinist and later progressed to mechanical design and engineering in the defense sector. In 1968 he moved his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In the mid-seventies he moved back to the west coast to Richland, Washington to start a new job at Pacific Northwest Laboratory. In 1984, he moved to Los Alamos, to start work at EG&G.

After a few years at EG&G William accepted a job at the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he retired from in the mid-nineties.

He is survived by his four children, Bill, Diane, Susan, and Buck. William is also blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all living in Colorado. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Corky Wilds, living in Sierra Madre, California.

William was a regular at the Los Alamos VFW and was friends with everyone there. He also enjoyed outdoor activities fishing, hiking, riding horses, and boating. William loved art work and painting. He also loved great New Mexican food with plenty of green chile.

He will be greatly missed by all friends and family.

The family of William A. Wilds has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
