KAY FISHER Sept. 10, 1934  Nov. 25, 2019
Kay Fisher, of Los Alamos, New Mexico, died suddenly Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at her home.
Kay was born Sept. 10, 1934 to George and Hilda Harrington of Davenport, Iowa. Kay earned a degree in chemistry from the University of Nebraska. She married Henry (Hank) Fisher in Las Cruces in 1960.
She worked as a programmer at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 30 years.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Hank; her loving son, Robin Fisher from Crofton, Maryland; two beautiful grandchildren, Racheal and Samuel (Sam) Fisher, of whom she was immensely proud; and her daughter-in-law Patricia (Patsy) Fisher, also of Crofton, Maryland. Kay’s siblings, Maxine Lundgren and Max Fisher, have both preceded in her death.
Kay was a dedicated wife, grandma and mother and will be missed greatly by her family and those who knew her. Kay loved her job as a computer programmer at LANL for her entire career.
Kay’s hobbies included raising orchids, genealogy, visiting weekly with friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and most importantly, caring for her family. Kay always made sure that food and water was available for the hummingbirds, deer and other wildlife that always found their way to her house.
Kay was an adventurer; she hiked the Grand Canyon; rock-climbed; and traveled all over the world, including Australia, Alaska and Europe.
The family suggests a gift in her memory to one of her charities: Planned Parenthood, Democratic National Committee, and the Nature Conservancy Wild Life Foundation.
A visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, for friends at the Rivera Family Funeral Home, located at 305 Calle Salazar, Española, NM, 87532.
