INEZ EVANGELINE CHRISTENSEN Nov. 1, 1925 Sept. 2, 2019

Inez Evangeline Christensen passed from this life and entered the presence of her Savior Jesus on September 2, 2019 in Los Alamos, New Mexico.  Surrounded by her loving family, Inez received a body free of cancer and dimmed vision.

Inez was born in Antelope, Montana to Theodore Raymond Knutson and Inga Evanger Knutson on November 1, 1925 and grew up in rural North Dakota as the oldest of 16 children.  She graduated from Kenmare High School in North Dakota and went on to pursue a nursing career, which was cut short to marry her sweetheart who was fighting with the Allies in Belgium and France.

Inez married Eldon Lyle Christensen in October 1945.  They had two children, Kaye and Rod, while Eldon finished college in Fargo, ND.  The young family moved to Los Alamos in 1952 where they went on to have three more children, Janie, Kirk, and Heidi.

Inez was dearly loved by her family and friends.  She was a great mother, mentor and example to all who knew her.  She was known for her hospitality, the creativity she expressed in sewing, decorating, floral design, cooking and maintaining a beautiful home.

Eldon and Inez were married for 43 years, until his death in 1988.  In 1994, Inez married Wildon Fickett to whom she was married for 21 years, until his death in 2015.

She will be missed by many; but especially her children and grandchildren  She is survived by brothers and sisters, her children; daughter Kaye Peterson and husband, Dan, son Rod Christensen and wife Leilani, daughter, Janie Carden and husband Daniel, son Kirk Christensen and wife Gretta, and daughter Heidi Schoenhals and husband Monty, 19 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church where she was a member for many years.

Inez’s family suggests that donations in her honor can be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
