EDWARD GENE CARLSON March 11, 2015

Edward Gene Carlson, 87, of Los Alamos, New Mexico, died March 11, 2015. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, where he lived most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. He later worked in Tacoma as a motion picture projectionist and a TV cameraman.

Ed loved the mountains of Washington State and spent much of his free time hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Selma Carlson of Tacoma, Washington; his brother, Roy Carlson of Boston, Massachusetts; and by his nephew Lester McGehee, of Los Alamos.

He is survived by his long-time friend and love, Michiko (Kay) Olague, of Tacoma, Washington, and his sister, Linnea Ohlsen, of Los Alamos. "Uncle Eddie" will be missed by his nephews, Peregrine McGehee of Saugus, California, William McGehee of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Frank (Frankie) Carlson of Boston, Massachusetts; and by his nieces, Ellen McGehee of Los Alamos, and Martha Teck of Highland, New York. He leaves numerous great-nieces and nephews, including Celeste Levy of Los Alamos.

The family has held a private celebration of Ed's life.
