DIANE DAVIS Dec. 4, 1979 – Jan. 9, 2019

Diane Davis (Princess Di) passed away on January 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Diane was born in Zuni, New Mexico on December 4, 1979 and reborn on Oct 13, 1995 when she came to live with John, Doris, Susie and Jessica Roberts in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Diane attended and graduated from the New Mexico School for the Deaf in 2002. Diane was joined at the hip to her sister, Sharon Jim, who came into her life 3 years after joining the Roberts family.

Diane was gifted with the ability to make people smile and laugh. Being Down Syndrome and Deaf did not stop her from approaching people to shake hands or wave and smile at them. Diane and the Roberts family moved to Los Alamos in October 2009 where Diane made many friends.

Diane attended All Individuals First, a program for adults with developmental disabilities. She volunteered at the United Thrift Store and Casa Mesita Thrift Store. She enjoyed walking around Ashley Pond, playing mini golf, dancing, bowling, camping and enjoyed life to the fullest on her terms.

Diane had a creative streak and loved to paint, an uncanny ability to light up a room and would always break out in spontaneous dancing.

Diane is survived by her birth parents as well as Doris and John Roberts of Los Alamos, grandmother Susanna Neal (Los Alamos), six sisters including Kirstin Humble (Montrose, CO), Lisa Skerrett (Polaski, VA), Carolynn Roberts, Susie Roberts, Jessica Roberts and Sharon Jim (Los Alamos, NM), and 10 nieces and nephews Elizabeth Pineda, Leann Quiroz, Joseph Quiroz, Mark Sisneros, Jayden Miller, Jake Miller, Demitrius Sisneros, Cameron Sisneros and Aurora Roberts-Voss.

Diane is preceded in death by her grandfather Warren Neal (Los Alamos). Grandparents Berva and Jessie Roberts (Las Vegas, NM) and nephew Rick Sisneros (Santa Fe).

A Memorial is set for Feb. 2, 2019 in Los Alamos, NM.
