NMSP Seeks To Reunite Victims With Stolen Jewelry

NMSP News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico State Police recovered a stolen vehicle Oct. 13, 2018, in Pecos.

Inside the stolen vehicle, State Police officers discovered three backpacks filled with hundreds of dollars worth of stolen rings, watches, necklaces, coins and miscellaneous jewelry.

Now the New Mexico State Police wants to reunite this jewelry with its rightful owners.

Anyone in the areas of Santa Fe County, Pecos or the City of Santa Fe who are victims of burglary resulting in the taking of jewelry between June of 2018 and Oct. 13, 2018, are asked to come by or contact the New Mexico State Police District 1 Office in Santa Fe and fill out a Stolen Property Identification Form.

On the form victims will be asked to provide their personal information and a detailed description of the jewelry that was stolen. Officers will be available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Fridays to go over forms with victims and hopefully reunite them with their jewelry.

Although not necessary, victims are encouraged to bring any pictures that would help officers identify the jewelry as well as police reports or receipts if they have them.

  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 12;
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 19; and
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 26.

Where:

  • New Mexico State Police District 1 Santa Fe Office
  • 4491 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe

Why:

  • To reunite burglary victims in the Santa Fe County, City of Santa Fe and Pecos areas with their stolen jewelry that was taken between June of 2018 and Oct. 13, 2018.
