Monday's Supermoon Closest To Earth Since 1948

on November 15, 2016 - 7:45pm

The supermoon shines in the sky Monday night over Los Alamos. This amazing spectacle is the first such event in almost 70 years. During Monday's event, the moon is the closest it has been to Earth since 1948. It appears 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than the average monthly full moon. The next supermoon is scheduled to appear Nov. 25, 2034. Photo by Leland Lehman/ladailypost.com
