LAPD News:

Los Alamos Police Department will conduct its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 27.

This event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the North parking lot (off Central Avenue) of the Los Alamos Police Department.

This drug diversion program is part of a national initiative by the drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Along with the drug collection, the Office of Emergency Management will be available to enroll community members in the CodeRED Emergency Alert System.

The CodeRED system keeps the community informed of emergencies that occur in the Los Alamos area. There also will be pamphlets with information regarding wildfire and evacuation information available.

Direct questions to Det. Joseph Robinson at 505.663.1888.
