Lauderdale And Gomez Play Fuller Lodge Dec. 30

on December 8, 2018 - 8:36am

MUSIC News:

Americana music legend Jim Lauderdale will join his friend Max Gomez on Max’s return to Los Alamos Sunday, Dec. 30. Lauderdale is both a "songwriter's songwriter," who's written/co-written many modern classics for iconic artists, as well as an intuitive sideman, who's enhanced the music of a bevy of esteemed musicians.

As a solo artist, since 1986 up until now, he's created a body of work spanning 29 albums of imaginative roots music, encompassing country, bluegrass, soul, R&B and rock, as well as helping pave the way for the current Americana movement. Lauderdale’s last album drew this review from Rolling Stone: “Time Flies” is a warm, reverential reflection on the passage of the years, a rippling Southern rock ballad that unfurls like smoke in the furthest reaches of the memory.

New Mexico native Max Gomez has made an appearance on the Hill each of the past four years and, having sold out last year’s show, is eager to play for his growing fan base here once again. Gomez will be backed by a band for this engagement and will likely do a number or two with Lauderdale. Gomez has recently relocated to Los Angeles and has been productive in both the writing and recording areas of his craft. Los Alamos fans will be treated to some of those new songs as well as those they have come to love over the years.

Gomez and Lauderdale will play Fuller Lodge Sunday, Dec. 30. They will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., but doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Full East Indian dinners are available, as is beer and wine from Bathtub Row. Tickets ($25 in advance/$30 at the door) can be purchased at liveinlosalamos.com, or from Los Alamos Schools Credit Union (for those wishing to avoid a service fee). Gomez sold out his solo show last year and those on the Live in Los Alamos email list have already picked up more than half of the available tickets, so fans are encouraged to get tickets soon!
