A Los Alamos Company stood out among New Mexico’s top high-tech companies recognized last week for their achievements by New Mexico Flying 40, which annually honors the state’s fastest-growing companies.

Los Alamos Technical Associates (LATA), 999 Central Ave., led the list of Top 10 revenue companies for the second consecutive year.

LATA is a technical project management services company with total revenues of $237.8 million in 2011, which represents a nearly 186 percent, or $154.6 million increase in revenue since 2007.

“As a New Mexico company that performs work throughout the United States and internationally, we are very pleased to be recognized in our home state and are proud that we have maintained our home office in Los Alamos for the past 36 years,” said Executive Vice President Dan Carlson, from LATA’s Los Alamos office.

In the 1970s, the company’s core business focused on the design, installation and operation of highly specialized systems and processes for Special Nuclear Materials handling.

LATA expanded throughout the 1980s into communication systems design and test for defense applications.

In the early 1990s, the company expanded into the environmental services arena, performing some of the most challenging Superfund site remediation efforts in the country as well as some of the most challenging site and facility closure projects in the nation’s Nuclear Weapons Complex.
