LALT Hosts Play Reading Sept. 12

on September 6, 2017 - 6:14am

LALT News:

Los Alamos Little Theatre (LALT) is hosting a play reading of “Secondary Cause of Death” at 7 p.m., Sept. 12 in the theatre’s green room.

Inspector Pratt is back! The second in a trilogy by Peter Gordon, “Secondary Cause of Death” features bumbling police Inspector Pratt, a completely inept police sergeant who on occasion is temporarily elevated to Inspector. He is back at the country manor that was the scene of “Murdered to Death” from LALT’s  2024-2015 season.

Col. Craddock now residing in his inheritance, is attended to by a very solicitous and attractive nurse, and hosts mystery theatre for weekend guests.

The play is set on the eve of World War II and war intrigue, Nazi infiltrators and British counter espionage add to the mystery and mayhem as the body count rises.

The play is even more complicated and chaotic than “Murdered to Death” and the body count tripled!

Cast members include:

  • Lady Isadora Pollock, 40ish
  • Count Puchlik, a Polish gentleman
  • Col. Charles Craddock
  • Ret. Capt. Henrietta Wollmer-Cardinton, 20s
  • British Military (Auxililary Territorial Service)
  • Cynthia Maple, sister of Joan Maple Cardew Longfellow, thespian (double-cast with Craddock) Lily Tuthill, cook
  • Inspector Pratt
  • Ann Parsley, nurse

This show, scheduled for the LALT March 2018 slot, is underpinned by a British sense of humor and will be directed by Linda Taylor.

LALT looks forward to providing a rollicking great read. Refreshments will be provided. Producer Chris Weaver will provide forms at the reading to anyone interested in auditioning. Audition information will be posted as soon as possible after the reading.
