LALO Presents The Addams Family A New Musical

on October 7, 2019 - 2:29pm

LALO News:

Get ready for something creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky! To enhance your Halloween season, Los Alamos Light Opera will be presenting The Addams Family, a New Musical directed by Cindy Hines, with musical direction by Gretchen Amstutz, choreography by Brooke Davis, and produced by Laurie Tomlinson.

Based on characters created by Charles Addams, the beloved family from the classic television series and films come to life on the stage, with book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, for an evening of fun and games that will be altogether ooky!

From the publisher, The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family--a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.

Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before--keep a secret from his beloved wife Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents. Director Hines is very pleased to have assembled a stellar cast of veterans and newcomers that breathe life into the lovable live characters and their deceased ancestors.

The cast includes Gomez Addams (Bear Schacht), Morticia Addams (Giovanna Garofalo), Uncle Fester (John Cullinan), Grandma (Andrea Bishofberger), Wednesday Addams (Valerie Lawdensky), Pugsley Addams (Holly Robinson), Lurch (Aric Tibbits), Mal Beineke (Scot Johnson), Alice Beineke (Jess Cullinan), Lucas Beineke (Kevin Pelzel), and the Addams ancestors (chorus members).

Performance dates for this musical are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 25 and 26 and Nov. 1 and 2, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Duane Smith Auditorium.

This production is a wonderful addition to the Halloween Season in Los Alamos, so wear your costumes! For a special treat, children 12 and under will be admitted free opening night, Oct. 25, one child per paying adult.

Tickets are available at, at CB FOX, and at the door. $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and students.
