LAAC News:

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) invites children of the community to come and audition for this year’s Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of “The Snow Queen” 10 a.m. to noon  Monday, July 22 at Crossroads Bible Church.

Those auditioning should arrive at 9:30 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Parents should send their child with water and a sack lunch in the event that they are required to stay for the second half of the day.

Auditions are free and open to the community. Early registration is available at www.losalamosartscouncil.org. Early registration does not guarantee a child a spot but will allow them to go quickly through the lines on Monday morning.

Participation fees for children cast in the show will be collected after they receive their parts, and range from $35 to $45. Discounts for additional family members are available.

Among the roles to be cast are the Snow Queen, Gerda, Gerda’s Grandma, Gerda’s best friend Kay, Kay’s Grandma, the Gardner Woman, Bae the Reindeer, Yeti, the Little Robber Girl, Mr. and Mrs. Crow and the Prince and Princess.

There also are Hobgoblins, Snow Animals, Robbers, and Snow Chickens. Students, entering first through 12ht grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors also will be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week, and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
