Los Alamos Historical Society News:

Registration is open now for fall sessions of Time Travelers, the after-school, drop-off program for elementary school students from the Los Alamos Historical Society.

Time Travelers sets students on an adventure of exploration, investigating our local history through artifacts in the Los Alamos History Museum and hands-on activities.

Time Travelers will meet in September, October and November. Sessions for 1st-3rd grade students meet second Wednesdays, and sessions for 4th–6th grade students meet third Wednesdays. Sessions meet 1:15-3 p.m. in Fuller Lodge.

The program is offered on a pay-what-you-like basis and pre-registration is required. Registration for each session is limited to 10 students. Details and registration information are available at www.losalamoshistory.org/childrens_programs.

In September, students will get hands-on with some homesteading chores in the Romero Cabin. Marlon Magdalena from Jemez Historic Site will join Time Travelers for the October sessions, sharing an interactive lesson on Ancestral Pueblo life and Pueblo culture. In November, students will explore the temporary exhibit in the Los Alamos History Museum and learn what it was like to be a kid in Los Alamos in the 1950s and 1960s.
