Golf Course Dedication Ceremony Honors Ed Griggs

on June 10, 2012 - 11:40am
All the carts are loaded and ready to go at the start of the tournament. At the go signal everyone goes dashing off to their assigned tee - the official start is called a "shotgun" start, which is now a horn blast. The Ed Griggs Memorial Strong Kids Classic held at the Los Alamos Golf Course Saturday honors noted golfer Ed Griggs who passed away last year. He played his final round of golf in the Strong Kids Classic tournament last year. It is the second major fundraiser of the year for the Los Alamos Family YMCA. There were 28 foursome teams entered in the best ball scramble tournament. The money raised goes to support the Strong Kids programs at the Y. Photo by TK Thompson/ladailypost.com
