LAHS News:

Interested in supporting educational travel? Buy some fresh-roasted, organic, Fair Trade coffee and help more than a dozen Los Alamos High School graduating seniors see historic sights in Europe next June!

For 15 days, the group of 2014 Los Alamos graduates will learn through the power of visiting actual historical sites in six different countries, including Anne Frank’s house, Versailles, and Stonehenge. Local guides will give them behind-the-scenes tours of the cities of Amsterdam, Heidelberg, Munich, Venice, Lucerne, Paris and London.

The Europe 2014 travelers know that educational travel is a valuable experience for living in our global economy. By witnessing new cultures first-hand and experiencing history usually learned in textbooks, they hope to strengthen their skills as global citizens and build confidence for college and adult life. For more tour information, visit www.eftours.com/1347583

To reduce the financial challenge of the program fees, Europe 2014 travelers are selling organic, Fair Trade coffee this week. Coffee is a perfect gift for the holidays, a great way to support local youth on educational travel, and a honest endorsement of international Fair Trade practices! Coffee is $12 for a 10 oz. bag, whole bean or ground, in French Roast, Dark Roast, Medium Roast, and Decaf. Tea is $6 for one box of 12 tea bags and comes in Chamomile, Earl Grey, Breakfast, Green Tea. All coffee is kosher, certified organic, Fair Trade certified, and will be fresh-roasted after the local order is placed. To learn more, visit http://www.nectaroflife.com/

Because the group cares about global issues, they decided to sell Fair Trade coffee to support hard-working farmers and their families throughout the world. Fair Trade raises incomes and living standards for small coffee farmers while helping to protect the environment. To learn more, visit www.transfairusa.org.

Orders must be received by Monday, Nov. 25 and will be delivered the week after Dec. 6. Make checks payable to "Europe 2014." Contact Lynn Ovaska lynnovaska@gmail.com to order coffee and support these dynamic students.
