Sasha Scully, owner and operator of SäshaStylz™ Art, will do a live painting at Dr. Zee Benefit Concert, which will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Building 2 at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos.

The concert will raise funds for Dr. Zandree Stidham, who was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia in 2010.

Scully was born and raised in New Mexico. Scully has shared a long history with arts; she said, “I was always experimenting with all types of art and creating. It is in my blood. My Grandmother “Mutti” has been the biggest influence in my life and career as she shared the same passion for the arts as I do. I have honored that within my work by signing my name with an umlout over my a, as Mutti was born in Germany.”

Scully’s work stands out from the crowd because of her use of energetic colors, deep textures and her self taught techniques. This unique style has earned her spots in several galleries, exhibits, juried art shows, and features in several publications. Scully continues to share her works as a teacher, graphic artist, designer, 3D animator/videographer and illustrator of adult and family coloring books. Very devoted to her teachings, Scully loves to see her students create their own works.

“Art can be very difficult as we are “trained” to stay within the box. I strive to help everyone let go and they just do it! It is wonderful to see everyone being in the moment and leaving my class happy with what they have created.” Recently her workshops have exploded in the community, with her past shows completely selling out. Most recently she has done a Wine and Paint Night at UnQuarked Wine Room. Friday will be her second live painting, that she will also auction off for the fundraiser.
