County: New Snow Removal Operation On North Mesa Begins This Evening … Avoid Parking On Streets

on January 7, 2019 - 5:57pm

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County, in conjunction with one of its private contractors, will be unveiling a new snow blower machine that is capable of quickly and efficiently loading several large dump trucks used to haul snow away.

This new machine will be able to load trucks faster than the traditional heavy equipment loader and increase efficiency in the snow removal process.

The new operation will commence this evening on North Mesa and the neighborhood surrounding San Ildefonso Road, Big Rock Loop, Capulin Road and Broadview Drive.

Residents are asked to avoid parking on the street if possible and to keep a safe distance from the machinery and dump trucks, while in operation.

Private contractors are occasionally brought in to assist County crews with large snow removal efforts, in order to provide sufficient service for the community.

Los Alamos County thanks the residents for their patience and is continuing to work hard to keep County roads safe.
