County Grooms Golf Course For XC Skiing

Southwest Nordic Ski Club News:
Los Alamos County Open Space Division has responded to a multitude of requests from the community for grooming on the golf course by collaborating with Southwest Nordic Ski Club this week.
The club lent the county a trackster, roller and track setter and County Open Space Specialist Eric Peterson readily took on the role of groomer for the golf course. Peterson’s first day grooming was Wednesday and he set a great skate and classic lane for approximately a 2.5km loop. He plans to add another 2.5k loop on southwestern part of the golf course in the coming days.
The skiing was beautiful! Southwest Nordic Ski Kids Team usually practices on Camp May Road and Canada Bonita trails. The team really enjoyed having a practice location available in town this week, making it easier to attend for SWN Ski Kids team families and coaches on a busy weekday afternoon.
Having groomed trails right in town will allow more folks to get out and enjoy xc skiing more often during the winter.
