Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1

Fifth Street between Myrtle and Canyon is closed.

Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

The work zone on Canyon Road is between NM502 to just south of Nugget. This section is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

The previously announced block to block closures between the south end of Canyon and Manhattan Loop west for the installation of geo-textile stabilization material were further delayed, and are expected to occur mid-week. The Manhattan Loop detour remains in place; however, during the block closures residents exiting 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Streets may be directed either north or south on Canyon Road depending on the location of the block closure. Each closure should last no longer than one day.

Minor delays should be expected. All through traffic on the above streets must seek alternate routes.

Concrete replacement continues on the eastbound side of Trinity between 35th Street and Oppenheimer. Expect a continued lane closure as the NMDOT replaces deteriorated sections of curb, gutter, and some sidewalks.

West Road Closed Due to Potential Flooding

Due to safety concerns related to potential flash flooding in the canyon, LANL and the County have closed West Road until the monsoon season is over.
