Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) has received a $1,500 award from the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation Board of Directors in support of educational hands on science, youth development and the Community Asset Awards.
“The LANL Foundation appreciates how Champions of Youth Ambitions celebrates community assets and achievements, and works to bring quality enrichment education to youth in Los Alamos,” C’YA Executive Director Bernadette Lauritzen said.
Since 1997, the LANL Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has worked to inspire excellence in education and learning in Northern New Mexico through innovative programming, collaboration and advocacy.
“We are elated that the LANL Foundation appreciates our contribution to inspire the future leaders of tomorrow,” said C’YA Science Educator Chad Lauritzen, who recently retired from LANL. “Their work to support not only our goal of making science fun, but to help us recognize those in our community who make it and the world better, is more than we can say.”
