Canvassing Board Officially Approves Bond Election Count

on January 30, 2013 - 4:19pm

Members of the canvassing board this morning at the Los Alamos County Clerk's Office reviewed vote tabulations from Tuesday's School Bond Election before signing documents to render the final count - 4,283 For and 1,784 Against as official. The canvassing board learned that of the 7,378 ballots/envelopes received, 40 were rejected because they were unsigned, 4 were rejected because the outer envelope was received with no ballot inside and another one had no name. Also, 1,259 were returned by the post office as undeliverable and another seven were rejected because five showed no vote at all and two voted both yes and no.
