Barkin' Ball is Chance to Thank Good Neighbor

on September 19, 2012 - 12:00pm

Staff report

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter is hosting its annual Barkin' Ball at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.

The Los Alamos community is invited to attend the Shelter’s largest fundraising event of the year, which typically attracts at least a few famous people.

Ticket sales are down this year and they really need more people to attend.

During the Las Conchas Fire, and during the Cerro Grande Fire, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter took in dozens and dozens of animals from Los Alamos evacuees, and found foster homes for the animals it couldn't take in.

The shelter absorbed thousands of dollars of costs incurred in caring for the animals during those fires.

This is an opportunity for residents in Los Alamos to say thank you to the Shelter and have a fun evening at the same time.

Los Alamos National Bank is a major sponsor and underwriter for the Barkin' Ball.
