2019 Diversity Week Art Contest Winners Announced

One Los Alamos announces the winners of the 2019 Diversity Week Art Contest. Children and Young Adults K-12 were asked to submit artwork celebrating what diversity means to them. Three winners were chosen from 34 creative entries. The winners are, from left, Kylie Shrader (3rd place), Kara-Lynn Christensen (2nd place) and Jillian Lewis (1st place), all 5th graders from Chamisa Elementary School. Art teacher in Renee Mitsunaga's art class. First place received $30, Second place $20 and Third Place $10 – all in Los Alamos Chamber Checks. Thanks to all the participants and congratulations to the winners! One Los Alamos is people of Los Alamos County interested in promoting thoughtful, civil dialogue around diversity of backgrounds, beliefs and identities in order to champion shared values and interests that can strengthen the community.
