Constitution Day High Elevation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk

Through the Constitution Day High Elevation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk, the Republican Party of Los Alamos is promoting health, wellness and fun.

The race is 7 a.m., Sept. 15 at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area.

The Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is on the north face of Pajarito Mountain in the Jemez Mountains in North Central New Mexico, west of Los Alamos. It is on 850 acres of privately owned land with a base elevation of 9,000 feet and top elevation of 10,440 feet.

Participants are advised to be prepared for high elevation, uneven terrain, dirt, rocks, roots and trees. Check area weather reports the morning of the race and plan accordingly, wearing appropriate shoes and clothing is vital to one’s success. Aid stations are provided.

The Constitution Day High Elevation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk is a demanding high-altitude challenge. This mountain run is on a rugged and steep ski trail with plenty of demanding uphill stretches. This run will test one’s endurance.

Those not ready for such a challenge can participate in the Constitution Day High Elevation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk by walking the course.

Early packet pick-up is 4:30-6:30 p.m., Sept. 14 at a location to be determined. Race day packet pick-up and late registration is 4:30-6:45 p.m. Sept. 15 at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area.
