COUNTY News:

Public Works Projects:

For more information about the projects listed below, please e-mail lacpw@lacnm.us, call

Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 2:

15th Street: Work on 15th Street will primarily consist of earthwork and placement of base material. Driveway accesses to business parking areas on 15th Street have been closed in order to place valley gutters and drive pads at this intersection. This closure will last for 15 days to allow time to place forms, concrete, and cure time for the fresh concrete. During the closure, the contractor will be placing blue “business access” signs to provide motorists direction to the alternate driveway.

The traveling public is to expect heavy truck traffic and congestion with lane closures and flagging operations. Seek alternate routes and allow additional time to reach your destination.

The contractor is expected to pave from Oakwood North to Myrtle Street Monday, Sept. 30 or Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Expect single lane closure/flagging operations between Oakwood South and Central Avenue to allow reconstruction of the road through Oct. 12.

Western Area Phase 1:

44th Street road construction including earthwork and placement of base materials is expected to occur during the week of Sept. 30. If weather permits, paving 44th Street will occur on Oct. 3. Expect heavy equipment/ truck traffic along 44th Street and at the Trinity Drive/44th Street intersection. Flagging operations will be in place throughout the course of the work area. Sidewalk placement between 44th Street Cul-de-sac and 43rd/45th intersection will be completed during this time. Pedestrians are asked to seek an alternate route to Western Area Park.

Access to residences as well as services such as mail delivery, emergency services, and trash and recycling collection will be maintained. Residents may now use their drive ways but are asked to maximize use of off-street parking. Any necessary on-street parking should be away from the active work zones. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with possible weekend work if necessary.

Canyon Glen Bridge Safety Attenuators:

Work has been delayed due to weather conditions. Work continues in the vicinity of the recently installed attenuators. Vehicular traffic is not impacted; however, pedestrians are asked to use the provided pedestrian pathway until the new sidewalk is opened.
