Cone Zone: Week Of Oct. 26

Los Alamos County has announced the road construction update for the week of Oct. 26.

Please slow down and use caution within the construction work zones. Please note the below information is based on a schedule provided by the contractors and may change due to weather or other delays.

Public Works Projects:

Ice Rink Parking Improvements:

Motorists might experience delays as the new parking area is constructed please allow extra time while driving through this segment under construction. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limit and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

Sherwood Blvd. /La Vista Drive:

Rain has delayed the paving of Sherwood Blvd. and closure from Friday to Tuesday, Oct. 27. Work is scheduled thru the weekend to prepare the roadbed for paving.

Monday, Oct. 26, construction crews will be paving the northbound lane of Sherwood Blvd. The southbound lane will remain open. Motorists might experience minor delays particularly at driveways and cross streets.

Tuesday, Oct. 27, Sherwood Blvd. will be closed from NM 4 to Aztec Ave. to complete final paving of all traffic lanes. Access to adjacent businesses will be detoured to Rover Blvd., Bonnie View Drive and Longview Drive. Flagging operations may occur near driveways and cross streets.

Motorists will experience minor delays. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zone, be on the alert for all workers and equipment. Large equipment and trucks will be entering and existing the work zone throughout the project.

The schedule may change due to weather or other delays.
